Resident Geldings and Non-Breeders

These non-breeding llamas may not be a part of the production program, but they earn their keep just the same. Our non-breeders serve as our public relations animals, packers and even guardians for our sheep.

Please feel free to inquire regarding any of the llamas listed below.

Hartman of Pinewood
(Daydream Believer x Santana's Silver Perfection)
2007 Gelding

Hartman was one of the last cria born on Grandma Becky's original farm. He is named after Hartman Reserve in Waterloo, IA, which her father, Gene Buckles, advocated so deeply for. Hartman has been boarded and moved several times throughout his life and so now he retired to a life of relaxation. Hartman enjoys working with children, but his ideal afternoon is sitting in front of a fan next to his mom scrolling through the phone. (He is fascinated!)

Hartman would love to join you for a birthday party held on the farm.

ALCL Spats
(MV Cinderella Man x Dominique)
2011 Gelding

Spats has personality plus! He will be one of the first llamas to greet you at the door. He joined our herd in 2017 and hasn't slowed down since. Spats is a 3 x National Champion in the gelding division and also Master Certified through the Pack Llama Trial Association.

If you book an extended packing trip with us, you'll be sure to meet Spats! He is the leader of the pack.

Teacup
(Grave Alert x Namaste Linda)
2016 Non-Breeding Female

Teacup thinks she owns the farm. She was born to Nick's very first llama and entered the world at only 13 lbs. She could barely reach up to her dam to drink milk. We offered no intervention, but little Teacup pulled through regardless!  Teacup has never seen her small size or quirky looks a means to hold her back. Even though her pasture mates have always been at least twice her size, she remains at the food trough, first to get hay and first to tell you what she wants to do.

She loads up easily into the Llama-Van and loves to go on visits for birthday parties or to read at the local library. Teacup lays down on command  and enjoys children.

HOLR Eban
(GNLC Silvertone x Acaisha)
2013 Gelding

HOLR Eban is one of the tallest llamas on the property. His correct conformation, upright design, banana ears and silver color catch the eye of all who visit.

His show ring career is as bright as your would expect. HOLR Eban won several Championships and Best in Shows titles in his 2 year long show career. This wasn't unexpected as his dam and sire are two of the most celebrated animals in the industry.

Unfortunately when he was turn out into the breeding pen, Eban was unable to settle any females. He has since been castrated and has joined our gelding group.
