DELAGO
(Particular x Cleocatra)

DOB: June 11, 2010 * ILR# 280084

After many years of searching for a male, Delago has officially become the first herdsire for Namaste Farm. His substantial bone, single coat fleece, large size, correct conformation  and outstanding pedigree caught our attention while attending the famed Hinterland Ranch's herd dispersal in 2010. Delago was only a month old at the time and sold along side of his very popular dam to our good friend's Rick and Mary Adams of Wild Oak Llamas.

We watched Delago grow up from afar and witnessed his success in the show ring. With a number of Grand and Reserve Champions under his belt already, we knew Delago would only get better.

This male's pedigree has a very deep history and encompasses an abundance of sentimental value. Delago was bred by Kay Patterson of Hinterland Ranch, OR who's program and dedication to the llama industry has been a role model for Nick ever since the inception of his llama addiction in through the 4-H program.

Delago's sire, Particular, was one of the chief *El Fuerte sons used at Hinterland Ranch and out of top notch producer Picardia, a full Peruvian import female.

Cleocatra, Delago's dam, was bred by Linda and Michael Pierce of Co-Rect llama ranch in Minnesota. Cleocatra is sired by Hard Rock's Gaston (The 2004 National Champion Heavy Wool Male), and inherited many of his characteristics. Cleocatra's dam, The Cat's Meow, is a famed daughter of The Canadian and was a top producer for Co-Rect Llama Ranch.

Jenni Olson of Y-B Normal Acres, past herd manager of Co-Rect Llama Ranch, has been one of the most influential people in Nick's experience with the llama industry. Mentor, historian, vet tech and most importantly friend - Our farm wouldn't exist without her support. Jenni was working for Michael and Linda Pierce when Cleocatra was born and acted as the interim when Kay Patterson purchased her at the nationally recognized Celebrity Futurity in Oklahoma City, OK.

We're not ones to believe in "Meant-to-Be" situations, but too many signs from the universe were pointing towards Delago to pass him up.

As he ages, Delago is fitting more and more into the mold we expected from his very strong pedigree. His first offspring will start arriving in Summer of 2014. We plan to retain any female offspring as future breeding females, but we may occasionally be willing to negotiate an outside breeding.
